“Om Saravanabhava” Vel Worship to Change Fate

11 Tuesdays – Method of Performing the Pooja

Place a six-inch Vel (spear) representing Arumugan with six sacred abodes (Aarupadai Veedu) in the pooja room. Apply sandalwood paste and kumkum to the Vel.

Take six betel leaves and place each betel leaf in front of the Vel, chanting:
“Om Subramanya Namaha, I offer this betel leaf.”

Place six agal lamps on the betel leaves. Pour ghee or pure sesame oil into the lamps and light them.
While lighting the lamps, chant “Om Saravanabhava” six times.

Offer flowers in front of the Vel, join both hands in prayer, and chant mantra given in the booklet 11 times.

"ஓம் சரவணபவ "விதியை மாற்றும் வேல் வழிபாடு 11 செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை பூஜை செய்யும் முறை ஆறுபடை வீடு கொண்ட ஆறுமுகனின் ஆறு அங்குல வேலை பூஜை அறையில் வைத்து சந்தனமும் மற்றும் குங்குமமும் வைத்து, ஆறு வெற்றிலை எடுத்து, ஒவ்வொரு வெற்றிலையும் வேளின் முன் வைத்து "ஓம் சுப்ரமணிய நமக வெற்றிலை சமைப்பயாமே" என்று சொல்லி ஆறு அகல் விளக்கை வெற்றிலை மீது வைத்து நெய் (அல்லது) நல்லெண்ணெய் ஊற்றி விளக்கை ஏற்றவும் ஏற்றும் போது ஓம் சரவணபவ என்று ஆறு முறை சொல்லவும்: வேலுக்கு முன் மலர் வைத்து இரு கைகள் கூப்பி 11 முறை பெட்டகத்தில் உள்ள மந்திரத்தை சொல்ல வேண்டும்.
